Their second EP, <em><a href=\"\/index.php\/discography\/#lastdream\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"21\">Last Dream<\/a><\/em> (2020), features a more Western-friendly direction, with several songs performed in English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the band\u2019s activities have slowed since Jinwook began his solo career, the members continue to support him and have performed together at several of his fan concerts.<\/p>\n\n\n<style>.wp-block-kadence-spacer.kt-block-spacer-9_1cbf43-ca .kt-block-spacer{height:60px;}.wp-block-kadence-spacer.kt-block-spacer-9_1cbf43-ca .kt-divider{border-top-width:1px;height:1px;border-top-color:#eee;width:80%;border-top-style:solid;}<\/style>\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-spacer aligncenter kt-block-spacer-9_1cbf43-ca\"><div class=\"kt-block-spacer kt-block-spacer-halign-center\"><hr class=\"kt-divider\"\/><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"solo\"><em>Son Jinwook &#8211; solo career<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Son Jinwook began his solo journey in 2021 by joining JTBC\u2019s <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLD0doeipUAXVhJVpyQsEiIiKR3DleLD2M\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Superband 2<\/a><\/em> (\uc288\ud37c\ubc34\ub4dc2) Though he was controversially eliminated in the second round &#8211; sparking strong reactions from rock fans. But he didn\u2019t stop there &#8211; later that year, he participated in TV CHOSUN\u2019s <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLD0doeipUAXWwXy3-klI107ZEF6Ek8ZgP\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kookmin Singer<\/a><\/em> (\ub0b4\uc77c\uc740 \uad6d\ubbfc\uac00\uc218 \/ <em>Tomorrow&#8217;s National Singer<\/em>) ultimately placing 7th despite his audition being edited out of the broadcast. He captivated viewers with powerful vocals and charismatic rock performances, earning a two-year contract with n.CH Entertainment as one of the Top 10 finalists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This contract led to his first solo release, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/sonjinwook.com\/index.php\/discography\/#paradigm\">Paradigm<\/a><\/em>, under the <em>Color Film<\/em> project, and regular appearances on <em>The Nation Calls<\/em> (2022\u20132023), a weekly TV show featuring live requests from viewers. This experience expanded his vocal range and versatility across a wide range of genres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2022, Jinwook also became the 61st &#8220;King&#8221; of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLD0doeipUAXVnMyXnzvg6lbOMeJgR6lg3\">King of Mask Singer<\/a><\/em> (\ubbf8\uc2a4\ud130\ub9ac \uc74c\uc545\uc1fc \ubcf5\uba74\uac00\uc655), winning the show\u2019s 186th edition. Apparently he was so astonished by other members&#8217; skills, that his face turned red &#8211; that&#8217;s how the name FIRR was created, which is abbreviation from <em>Face is Red. At the same time, he sings confidently in the lower range, effortlessly navigating over three octaves in live performances, often without even switching to pure head voice or falsetto for the highest notes.
